Langston freshman recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Today’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar Is Kameron Lindsay.

Kameron Lindsay is a freshman, biology major, from Matteson, Illinois.

This future whale and dolphin trainer has a 3.6 GPA and plans to make a difference in aquatic awareness.

At Langston, Kameron is a member of the Biology Club, serves as a peer tutor, and volunteers at a local youth center.

Langston student recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Today’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar is Alexander Smith. 

This 4.0 GPA honor student plans to continue his education at Langston by entering the School of Physical Therapy.

Alexander plays for the USTA tennis league of Oklahoma and still finds time to volunteer at the daycare center on campus, help at a local group home for women who have been incarcerated, serve as a peer tutor, and volunteer at his home church.

Langston freshman recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Brandon Yelverton is a freshman, business management major from Midwest City, Oklahoma.

After graduate school, Brandon plans to become a Human Resources Director and later own a personnel development company.

This honor student finds time to volunteer at a local hospice center, serve as a peer tutor on campus, and still maintain a 3.6 GPA.

Claflin senior recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Today’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar is Lorenzo Toland. 

Lorenzo is a senior, business administration major, accounting minor from Nesses, South Carolina.

This business owner and non-traditional honor student has served in the U.S. Military before attending Claflin University.

Lorenzo is committed to helping others by volunteering with the Salvation Army, the Samaritan House for the Homeless, and the Chamber of Commerce. 

As a goal, Lorenzo plans to continue expanding his ability to give back.

Claflin senior recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Jerame Smalls is a senior, business management major, sociology minor from Charleston, South Carolina.

This future certified financial planner will initially work as a stock broker.

Jerame has a 3.64 GPA and still finds time to serve as a peer tutor, a student services coordinator, and volunteer at a youth center.

Claflin freshman recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Today’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar is Harold Smith. 

Harold Smith is a freshman, business management major, marketing minor from Atlanta, Georgia.

Harold plans to own a Sports Scouting agency and represent football, basketball and baseball.

This honor student has a 3.6 GPA and still finds time to volunteer at a local high school, play on the Claflin baseball team, and serve as a peer tutor.

Harold is grateful to have a caring grandfather and a strong mother to guide him.

Claflin junior recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Dalton Tresvant is junior, human performance and recreation major from Columbia, South Carolina.

This future sports chiropractor has a 3.53 GPA and still finds time for campus and community service activities. 

At Claflin, Dalton is a member of the baseball team, is a sports broadcaster for other Claflin sports events, does community service at a local elementary school, coaches baseball at a recreation center during the summer, and serves as a peer tutor.

Johnson C. Smith junior recipient of Hercules Scholarship

Kwamaine Lane is a junior, information systems engineering major from Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Kwamaine chose Johnson C. Smith because his grandfather attended in the 1930s.

This honor student is very active in community service and supporting his fellow students. At Johnson C. Smith, he finds time to feed the homeless, tutor at a local high school, serve as a peer tutor for freshman students, and help his community.
